On Wednesday, October 22nd we had our annual Halloween party with the residents of the My Brother's and My Sister's Houses from the Holland Community. We do many events with this group of individuals and each one is a wonderful time!
Thank you to all of the Hope students who came out to fellowship with friends. We had some great costumes, including Professor Finn as Eddie VanHalen (complete with leather pants and a wig!). Special shout out to Lucas for bringing us speakers and DJ-ing the Halloween tunes. We enjoyed frosted sugar cookies, decorated pumpkins, and took many pictures together.
Can't wait for next year for another spooky good time!
It was so great to see even more new faces (and returners) at the meeting! We were able to put the final touches on our Halloween Party plans - My Brother’s House and My Sister’s House will LOVE it! Here’s all the details on that night and some other good stuff we have coming your way!
Aquinas Special Saints Autism Awareness Week
Reverse Field Trip
Mortar Board Friendship Prom
Relay for Life with Ready for Life
Finally, our next meeting is on Wednesday, November 5th at 7:15 p.m. in VZN 247. I know it’s a few weeks away, so we will remind you again as it gets closer :) That’s all for now; have a lovely week and we will see you for our Halloween Party!
It was great to see so many new faces at this meeting! We finally have a set meeting schedule for the semester: we will be meeting EVERY OTHER WEDNESDAY from 7:15-7:30 p.m. This means that our next meeting will be WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 8 (VZN 247)!
We’ve already heard from some of you who are interested in leadership positions, but continue to let us know if you are interested. You can also join the team right now without picking a position. We will be having elections in late October / early November and we would LOVE for more of you to join our team! Here are some of the other events we talked about at the meeting - keep these dates in mind!
In response to availability of members and faculty advisers, our meetings will be held
every other Wednesday from 7:15 - 7:30 pm in Van Zoeren 247.
Please spread the word and we hope to see everyone at our next meeting on Septemer 24th!
We've officially kicked off our semester!

Hope to see everyone there! If you cannot attend the meeting, look for a follow-up e-mail or check this blog page for updates.
Also, the e-mail list for C.E.C. updates has been started from scratch this year. Only individuals who have attended a meeting, e-mailed firstname.lastname@example.org, or signed up at the Activities Fair earlier this year will receive e-mails. If you would like to be added to this list, please e-mail email@example.com.
Thanks for your support!
For the Fall 2014 semester we are starting things off with a fresh new website! Our previous Blogger page through Hope College Student Development will still be available and there is likely to be a campus-wide online update in the near future- but this site fills our needs the best for the time being. We hope to provide you with easy access to organization updates, events, and other groups in the community who share our heart for individuals with special needs.
Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions or suggestions you have to make the site better. Thank you for your support!
