The first Wednesday of March is Spread the Word to End the Word awareness day! It is a day for society to stop and think about its use of the R-word and rally people around the world to pledge respect toward all individuals, making the world a more accepting and inclusive place for all people, especially those with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
On March 7th at 7 pm in the Bultman Student Center, there will be an ice cream social panel. Individuals with intellectual disabilities will speak about their experience with the R-word and how it has affected them. There will be a chance to ask question and an ice cream sundae bar too! There is an opportunity to take the pledge to stop the use of the R-word at the panel and also in the Kletz market and outside Phelps dining hall. We hope you see you on Wednesday!
